Here’s how you can transfer your EPF after changing jobs

When you decide to go for a change of jobs, you need to ensure that all your documentation and paper work is sorted before you join your new company. One of the main priorities needs to be the transfer of your EPF (Employees’ Provident Fund). You can also withdraw the amount depending on the time you’ve been working at the firm.

Now, even the EPF Organisation has gone online making it easier for the employee to withdraw or transfer their funds. With the help of this facility, the employee can easily transfer the balance to the new employer.

However, to be able to do so, you need to have your Aadhar, bank details and mobile number linked to the account along with the UAN activated. To be able to transfer the EPF online, the employee needs to get it attested by the previous or the new employer.

The transfer will then come into effect after the employer has corrected your details, approved the request and affected the transfer online through the portal. A digital signature of the employer is a must for the transfer to be successful.

Check out the process mentioned in steps for making an online EPF transfer:

Firstly, you will need to go to the EPFO members’ portal thereby logging in by using your UAN and password.

Then, you need to click on the ‘Online Services’ tab on the main menu of the home page.

Furthermore, you need to click on ‘Transfer Request’ for generating an online transfer request.

Thereafter, your personal details will be shown will be shown in a new page where you can verify all your details.

After verification, you will need to provide details of the employer after selecting previous employer or present employer.

After all the details are filled in, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number after which your request will be submitted. Thereafter, an online filled-in form will be generated which you can sign and send it to the selected employer.

Your employer will then get a notification about the transfer request after which your claim can be digitally forwarded to the EPO office by the employer.

You can then check the status of your EPF transfer claim under the ‘Track Claim Status’ menu and get to know details.
