At GetSetup we have over 100 classes available to people who are interested in new skill sets. Our mission is to create economic opportunities for seniors and help others learn the tools and skills needed to stay connected and live healthy lives. We are working with Assisted Care Facilities, Senior Living Spaces, Community Centers like the YMCA, and government agencies.
As a Guide, I have a chance to teach lots of different classes but like anyone, I have a list of favorite classes!

- Medicare Dates You Need to Know: I think this class is crucial for everyone in the Medicare age bracket (65+). There are critical deadlines and requirements that are mandated by law that can affect your health costs for the rest of your life. These and other choices have to be made within a specific time frame or you cannot change them until the next enrollment period. The information found in this class can help you know what documentation to gather in order to apply and what to ask an insurance agent when you are ready to begin the process.
- Learn New Skills . . . Right At Home: This class will help you find classes that interest you and fulfill your goals or just make you feel good during this increased time at home. The subject matter concentrates on free classes that are offered by some of the best universities in the world like Yale, Stanford, and Johns Hopkins. Your interests are the driving factor in this class and we’ll help you find courses you love and show you how to stay safe while you are online.
- Pay Bills and Banking Online: This class offers ideas for staying safe. It covers the options you have for sending and receiving money online and paying your bills from the comfort of your favorite chair. We go over how to set up your account and many more topics. We all understand that direct deposit is safer and faster than receiving checks in the mail. But did you know that the same applies to depositing checks into your account? It is safer to deposit using your bank’s app than to mail in a deposit. Check out this class to begin learning about online banking and how to optimize your results.
