How to market your idea (PT 3).

This is the THIRD post on how to market your idea. If you missed №1 and №2. Well you’ve missed out. Na, I’m joking, find them here.

THIS IS THE BEST THING YOU’VE EVER CREATED.

Now, you’ve set-up the landing page, you’ve done a few tweets. Woop Woop. You go gurrrrl. Well well, I’m going to break it to you. Marketing isn’t as easy as you think. It is a job in itself guys! But I’m going to give you a few ways to market your product out there, get your first fans onboard (who aren’t your Best Friend or your Mom) and get people to know about your product.

HERE GOES…

Betalist — It’s an online platform that enables people to discover and get early access to the latest internet startups. Post your business on there and it will allow you advertise your startup to early adopters and get feedback.

There are also some alternatives to try out here.

Product Hunt — It has become the go-to discovery tool for ‘product-loving enthusiasts to share and geek out about the latest mobile apps, websites, hardware projects, and tech creations’. It allows users on the platform to upvote your product in a forum-like format.

Product Hunt can bring your true fans. You will want to find a ‘Hunter’ who can post your product for you. Treat these users as fans. Send them a private invitation to beta features or offer to become a part of the early testing team, ask them about what they want to see in the product and get feedback so you can keep improving your product.

Facebook Groups — We are all part of them. While Pages (like the ones you follow with Elon Musk or Tesla ) were designed to be the official profiles, such as celebrities, brands or businesses, Facebook Groups are the place for group communication, share common interests, express opinions and related content. Go join one or make one for your business. There are heaps of them out there from video creators to like-minded entrepreneurs. If your business is a local one, then join local Facebook Groups like ‘Bondi Locals’. Contribute towards the group, provide insights, offer discounts and get those people onboard. After all, we all like a freebie!

…and we’ve even created one here for our early adopters so they can provide us with feedback. Join here.

GO GET ’EM TIGER. Let me know how you get on.

As always, if you want to get the latest ways to increase traction for your business get onto take1video.app. Launching soon.

Next up… how to use your personal brand to build your startup.
