In Tim’s words, social media is “pervy” (pervasive), free to access and engaging, which is useful for work and recruitment. But, it also has a dark side — comments by disgruntled employees or epic fails in your business being shared, can really damage your online presence.

The traditional recruitment process misses out on the opportunities social media presents — recruitment tends to be exclusive, often recycling applicants in the job market, whom tend to get hired for the wrong positions anyway! Social media opens up the job market to become more inclusive, as it allows for more people from diverse backgrounds to have a shot at the same opportunities and effectively creates more dynamic workplaces and upskills previously disadvantaged groups.
