Admission Cycle

What is an admission cycle?
An admission cycle is the period during which a college or university conducts its admission processes.
Do admission cycles vary?
In countries like the US, unlike India, there could be more than one admission cycle in an academic year and fresh admissions are accepted in every admission cycle.
A lot of institutions around the world have two to three admission intakes in an academic year. In the US, institutions usually have a Fall, Spring and Summer intakes. Fall starts around August, Spring begins around January while Summer starts around June. Depending on the institution and the program, your admission intake could vary. Not all institutions follow the same intake timeline.
Why do international students need to understand admission cycles better?
Students should be ready with a valid visa and also travel and stay arrangements after their admission is confirmed in a college or university — all this has to happen in a timely fashion for the student’s targeted admission cycle.International students should understand the admission cycles of their destination institution well and see how their plans sync with the program admission timelines.
With an eye on the right admission cycle, all the preparation work can then be planned and executed methodically without a lot of stress.
