Everyone says they have an open door policy.

The idea that anyone came come to you for help.

That all questions are good questions.

And the ever famous — there are no stupid questions.

So let’s turn this thing on it’s head.

Open door is not about being inbound. It’s about being outbound.

Open door means you’re out the door talking with your staff.

You’re seeking them out.

Not the other way around.

Right now you’re thinking… Yeah that’s cool and all — but really.

Think about the change in dynamic when you as a leader seek out your staff.

Take the time to teach and not tell.

Show people by example — what an open door policy really means.

Open door is now outbound.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out

Get out there and lead!
