Long live looping video!

RIP Vine. Hello Gfycat.

It was a sad day last week with the news that Twitter is shutting down Vine. We loved the ingenuity of Vine’s community of creators and want their content to live on.

We’ve built Gfycat around looping video since the beginning, so we put together this simple transfer tool over the weekend to help Vine users bring their Vines to Gfycat.

If you have a Gfycat account, you’ll be able to transfer over all your Vines with this tool. We import all the source data too (as well as sound!). If you don’t have a Gfycat account, making one is super easy. They’ll live on as GFYCATs and we’ll be working to make the best way to surface these in a manner true to Vine but pure to Gfycat.
