We Were All Mariah Carey in 2016
Sometimes things happen that you can’t control.
Maybe, for instance, your earpiece went out while you were trying to sing on live TV. (That probably didn’t actually happen to you personally — it’s a metaphor, just roll with it.)
Or maybe you were surrounded by incompetent people who you couldn’t trust to get things right.
Whatever your personal setback was in 2016, you got through it and at least you looked good while doing it.
When things go south, it’s okay to remind yourself of your past accomplishments. You got this! You’re a competent person experiencing a setback, so don’t be too hard on yourself.
Sometimes all you can do is roll with the punches and try to be graceful about it.
Don’t be afraid to give yourself credit for getting through tough times. A lot of credit. Even if it feels like you’re bullshitting.
Just try to make as graceful an exit from 2016 as possible.
You’ll be back to your diva self in no time…
…so just pretend the haters don’t exist.
