As part of the DEMO Africa Top 30 Series, I had a short Q and A with Daniel Bloch, founder of Bitsoko.

What Does Bitsoko Do?

Bitsoko is a mobile wallet and merchant POS system that uses Blockchain technology to lower the costs of making payments and sending money peer to peer.

How different is Bitsoko from other similar services?

Bitsoko offers an array of services to our merchants including payment options, analytics, customer loyalty, and payroll solutions that provide a more complete product than any of our competitors.

Have there been any exciting achievements yet?

Bitsoko received a Grand Challenges Explorations Grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

What made you apply to DEMO Africa 2015?

We applied to DEMO as we decided it’s the best place to launch our product as we plan to implement our merchant service solutions to 40 merchants after the event. We recently received a Grand Challenges Explorations Grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to expand our development and DEMO aligns perfectly with our timeline to launch.
