Several opportunities exist for startups all across Africa. With a collective funding amount of $129 million from 146 startups in 2016, Africa is a thriving continent with its own solutions to its unique challenges. Nonetheless, there is growing interest in how Africans can participate in the global tech scene and make significant contributions.

This summer, the Google for Entrepreneurs network will engage 15 African elite tech start-ups on a tour of leading European tech cities (Paris, Zurich, Berlin, Amsterdam and London) to pitch to investors, explore international opportunities and learn about frontier technology markets.

PitchDrive by CcHUB is a first-of-its-kind initiative that aims to showcase carefully selected African tech start-ups to over 300 investors with a collective target of raising over €20m.

The tour starts in London on The 14th of August, and ends in Paris on the 6th of September. More details can be found on the website: http://pitchdrive.xyz/

Application for start-ups is currently live, and Ghanaian tech startups are specifically being encouraged to apply. The deadline for start-up application is 18th of June so it’ll be great to start your application process now.

To be eligible to participate, the startup (must):

  • Be a tech start-up based in Africa.
  • Be a legally registered enterprise able to demonstrate a minimum of 12 months revenue-generating operations.
  • Demonstrate income generation of minimum $100,000 in the last 12 months.
  • Founder/ CEO must be available to tour from 14th of August to 6th of September.
  • Be willing to contribute $3,000 towards the overall cost of the trip.

The CCHub Pitch Drive is powered by Google for Entrepreneurs, and startups are expected to pay a sum of $3,000 per person towards the overall cost of the trip. Maximum people per startup is 2. Startups do not need to submit any company documents during the application process. All startups will be required to do is fill out the application form with relevant information and the PitchDrive team will be handling visa processing for the startups.

If you’re an investor and you want in too, there’s a place for you.

For all the opportunities to raise money, positive energy, investors and learning (and travelling) experiences out there, this is a good investment for any startup that wants to take part and think global. Be sure to share this with your entrepreneur friends and colleagues.
