Uber Ghana is Celebrating Its First Uberversary with Jollof and Waakye
Accra became a Uber city approximately a year ago. Within its first year, Uber has become a default choice for many people who want the experience of having a private car but for a cheaper price. The global company is celebrating its first year in Ghana with food; waakye and jollof.
The team sent an earlier communique on Thursday afternoon:
To celebrate our 1st anniversary this Friday, 9 June, we’re bringing you #TeamJollof or #TeamWaakye on-demand! Together with NyoNyo Essentials, we’ll be bringing this to your doorstep for FREE! We want to thank you for your contribution in moving Accra forward!
The communique also shared how much each customer had travelled with Uber, and for me, that was quite a surprise. I didn’t know I had used Uber that much.
If you’re thinking of food for Friday launch, or even and eat-in dinner, you know where to go. Here’s how to order.
If you’ll remember clearly, this is not the first time Uber has celebrated an occasion with food. The Independence Day Uber with Donuts was a special occasion many will remember, and make every look forward to this next year. Similarly, around Thanksgiving last year, the company offered to carry donations for free with UberGiving.
Amidst the other developments about Uber globally, Accra has been one of its most profitable cities with the company planning of expanding into Kumasi, at least in the next few months. Hopefully, Kumasi will become another hotbed for the ride-sharing unicorn. Happy Uber-versary, everyone!
