Largely unauthentic and boring band Quiero Club is back with a new single Oportunidad de Oro which is far worse than their worst song to date.

Oportunidad de Oro is an unoriginal and generic song both lyrically and musically. It is not that I expect much from Quiero Club. Given their past releases, I somehow had low expectations. I must confess I never got what’s Quiero Club’s deal. They want to be a party band; they want to write summer songs; they want to a happy band, but they’ve been failing miserably on delivering that vision of happy hip kids. Priscila’s voice is depressing and so bad and monotone that listening to their music feels more like a chore. Maybe more like a punishment.

Established musicians do not realize that in order to get a bit of attention in the currently saturated music market, they need to do something that goes beyond repeating themselves, or repeating an imported formula; they need to be authentic. It is almost as if they have to make an effort /s. Entering the studio and spitting into the recorders whatever first verse comes to mind is not enough anymore.

Bad music is a necessary evil. Music fans should have a benchmark against which to measure all badness. In that sense, Quiero Club’s making a social service: we know how bad a song can be.

And then, the video:
