The PoE on the UniFi Switch 8 won't power your UniFi AP AC-Lite

I found out this, sadly. The PoE passthrough port (port 8) is not gonna power your AP AC-Lite.

The reason? You're very likely powering your switch with the AC input adaptor and that will make the PoE 48V and your AP AC-Lite expects 24V. If it's amber, it won't power it on. If it's green it will. That would happen if you're powering the switch via the PoE in (port 1).

There's no apparent way to downgrade the PoE out port to 24V from the UniFi controller, which is a shame.
