emotions
It starts with anger
Red hot boiling in my chest
The rage that bubbles through my veins
Uncontrollable
Like a bulldozer it crushes everything in its path, tearing it down bit by bit
Screams and shouts of accusations
“Why? Why would you do this to me?”
Without a care, it destroys
The flick of a tongue, sharp like a blade
Precisely cuts off, the thin string holding relationships together
Weak and fraying
It turns, anger and hatred to something blue
Pastel and subdued, descending chromatic scales
In fast succession, like the pitter patter of the rain outside
You stare through your window, towards the grey stormy sky
The raindrops on the glass so elegantly slide along its surface
Yet messily it creates a maze
The paths of the individual drops of life
Intertwine and criss-cross
Your sadness,
Its beautiful
The storm brewing outside, calls to you, captivating
The sky a violent red, no longer the pretty hues of blue and grey
The clouds, a stark black, wispy faces formed
Demonic and evil in nature, mocking, laughing, belittling
Still, you leave your sadness, the cell you were trapped in, loving the pain of confrontation
You break through that single window, glass shattering
Your hands are now stained a deep red,
Inner wounds reflecting your physical state
Across the bridge you walk,
Toeing it, stumbling dangerously on a tightrope, swaying in the volatile wind
Sadness carrases you with its cold gentle touch, gently pulling, twirling around like ribbon dancers, flowing
You are blinded
Anger grips onto you, clutches you in a vice grip unable to let you go
You are controlled
They fight for power up ahead
Deep blues clashing with vibrant reds,
The sky is now a dull shade of violet,
Yellow streaks of lightning flash, the thunder roars, a cacophony of crashing cymbals
You stand beneath it all, without a voice and just observe
You are detached from the situation, apathetic to the ordeals that affect your life
You are helpless in this war
It’s ugly but its real
And the only thing you can do now is
To wait for this storm to pass over
And for the warmth of the sun to shine through once more
