will you still be here with me?

we discuss about all the one days-

this cafe, that restaurant, a cute bakery next door while

walking hand in hand through throngs of people,

stuck in our own little world

hidden from everyone but us.

lets’s have a picnic.

brie, cheddar, maybe some goat cheese as well?

oh! yes, lets add a jar of fig jam.

a charcuterie board of

different textures, different flavours.

pick up the knife on the side,

reflecting sunlight, momentarily blinding;

against the smooth grain of aged cocoa coloured wood.

lavender cake starkly contrasted with the cream of the scratchy mat,

sparkling juice in wine glasses with

trash bags and plastic cutlery hidden from view to achieve the

prettily perfect picnic picture

one day.

we plan the one days.

one day let’s open a cafe!

we’ll serve the best coffee and cakes

to bring warmth

for someone who has nothing but loneliness for a friend,

just like us all those years ago.

one day let’s take a bus to nowhere!

we’ll walk around aimlessly,

getting lost

in our innocent chatter as the sky turns to dusk,

leaving behind our worries.

one day, one day? one day.

one day let’s.

one day-

one day let’s live together.

oh i can already imagine:

imagine us buying groceries and

staying up late eating ice cream.

imagine us cooking up a feast for no reason,

exhausted but satisfied on a friday night.

we make a list of what to do, what to get,

even what to feel.

but in the end

will it all be for naught?

after all,

uncertainty fills us even at this moment,

who’s to say we will be together to experience

all the

one day?
