Gift Card Project Launches Android App
Gift Card Project Launches New Android App
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Providence, RI — May 25, 2017 — The Gift Card Project — an idea, movement and national effort meant to encourage others to bring together the homeless and those who help them — has launched an Android app devoted to helping feed the homeless. It can be downloaded in the Google Play Store at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.GiftCardProject.
The Gift Card Project app will give users greater access to its website and mainstream efforts to help the homeless.
“The launching of a Gift Card Project app is the first step in our national efforts to harness and leverage technology to help the homeless,” said Gift Card Project founder Ryan Bilodeau. “In the future we plan to allow app users to identify neighborhoods in which homeless are especially prevalent so that limited resources can be spent more wisely. Homelessness is a big enough problem that we need to be proactive in solving it.”
About The Gift Card Project: The Gift Card Project is an idea, movement and national effort meant to encourage others to bring together the homeless and those who help them. The Gift Card Project goes like this: Each day carry with you $5 gift cards to fast-food restaurants and be on the lookout for the homeless. The challenge of The Gift Card Project is to have a genuine conversation with the person you are helping. The Gift Card Project helps the homeless in a practical way while also reminding them of their own dignity, which is not depleted because of their current state. Pivoting out of poverty first requires a person to believe in that dignity. That is the real goal of The Gift Card Project.
