Chocolate aside, there are plenty of other ways to countdown to Christmas.

A chocolate a day may help you get through the holiday season, but it certainly won’t do you any favors toward your New Year’s resolution. With enough sweets floating around the month of December, Gift Hero has put together a not-so-obvious wish list to help you Countdown to Christmas, one treat at a time.

It’s easy to focus on everyone else in your life this time of year, but don’t forget to pamper yourself. Reveal a lotion or cream a day from L’Occitane, beauty product from Ulta, or charm that’ll piece together your new favorite bracelet by Christmas.

Treat yo’self.

But, since it is the season of entertaining, why not get a head-start with an advent calendar full of different teas, jams, or — arguably most importantly — wines? Don’t worry, with 24 days worth of each, there will be plenty to share and keep for yourself once your guests board their flights.

Let your advent calendar help with the entertaining load.

Getting the kids involved is not only a great way to engage them in the holidays, but it will also get them to stop asking, “How many more days until Christmas?” Having them color a picture a day, put together a Lego playset one piece at a time, or set up a Disney scene character by character will make them forget Santa hasn’t stuffed their stockings yet.

Quell the holiday equivalent of “Are we there yet?”

For the guys, nothing says holidays like tools and beer — two essentials when putting together all those new kids’ toys on Christmas day — while Mom’s banner calendar is equal parts countdown and decoration. It’s a win for the whole family and the holiday season.

Counting down can be fun for the whole family.
