Hitting The Links Over Labor Day
Labor always seems to sneak up on the calendar. Just as the kids are getting back to school, it’s like a wildcat waiting in the creeping shadow of fall, poised to pounce! It’s a completely underrated holiday and one that deserves a little time on the green. After a long hot summer, and just before the volatility of fall’s weather, right now is the perfect time to tee up. If you are heading to a public course, GO EARLY! It can feel like a slow death waiting to play 18 holes over a holiday weekend… unless all you really want is to be out of the house, then you will get just that.
Even if you can’t make it out to play this Labor Day weekend, you certainly can dream. Gift Hero has a golf gear wish list with some pretty great finds. If all you have this weekend is a chance to plan for your next golf outing, this is a great place to start. You can even ask for a round of golf at your favorite course. If that’s not worthy of a wish list, I’m not sure what is!
My last bit of advice for anyone lucky enough to be at large on the fairway this weekend; roll with a radio. Listening in on the kick-off of college football is a nice addition to the chirping birds and swoosh of your club.
