GIFTO Weekly Update — 15 May 2018

A Message from Andy Tian, CEO and co-founder of Uplive and GIFTO
Welcome everyone to our weekly update! This past week marks a major milestone for our team as we finally have users in Uplive using GTO tokens to buy gifts for broadcasters. This is a major step towards building our Whitepaper vision and the team has been thrilled by positive feedback.
Though we are still in the testing phase and have much more work to do, this milestone demonstrates that we are at the cutting edge of real-world applications of crypto-currencies and well-poised to drive mass adoption.
More on GTO token use in Uplive, as well as our Gifto blogger bounty initiative and our addictive new crypto-game Giftomon, below.

Product Updates
First — our most exciting news: Users of Uplive, our livestreaming platform, are now using GTO tokens to purchase gifts for broadcasters. Still in testing, the Gifto wallet in Uplive is available for users in Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea and enables Uplive users to a) transfer GTO tokens from their ethereum wallets into Uplive; and b) and use GTO tokens to purchase virtual gifts for their favorite broadcasters. During this region-limited testing period, we’ve seen positive Gifto usage data and are now planning further-ramp up.
Our next top priorities are to open up GTO token usage in Uplive to more than just Taiwan/ Korea/ Hong Kong and more actively onboard users to using GTO to buy gifts for broadcasters. This means communicating to and educating our users and broadcasters about the GTO token and its differences from uDiamond, the native virtual currency in Uplive.
As we continue to ramp-up, we look forward to being able to share more information on GTO usage in Uplive soon.

Uplive, Gifto, and our partners in the news
On April 24, 2018, Uplive, the largest overseas video broadcasting social networking platform, held a press conference at JW Marriott Marquis in Dubai. This is the first appearance of Asia Innovations Group (AIG) in Dubai, the “capital of trade” in the Middle East. Mr Ouyang Yun, Group President and Co-founder of AIG and Mr Jing WeiWei, CEO of AIG Middle East led the team to demonstrate the development status and future overseas strategy for Uplive.
2) GIFTO’s virtual currency platform is en route to Taiwan and Hong Kong this May
Today’s content creators (such as YouTubers) rely on a large number of fans for their click-through rates and business ads as a source of revenue. According to statistics, only about 1% of the top creators of the world’s top ten creators can obtain substantial income, and most people are unable to obtain reasonable revenue. After the livestreaming platform, Uplive, officially entered the blockchain industry last year, it created a ‘Universal Gifting Platform’ called “GIFTO”. Fans of the virtual currency platform will be able to use GTO in their transactions to exchange currencies and purchase virtual gifts. From content creation on social platforms such as Youtube, Instagram and Facebook, fans can also easily switch between these and other platforms to send and receive virtual gifts and engage with fans on any channel.

1) Tokenpost Gifto Meetup
GIFTO participated in the Tokenpost’s April meetup on May 14th, 2018. Mr Dylan Park, the head of GIFTO Korea, spoke about ‘Decentralized Technology: Challenges to Mass Consumer Adoption”, explaining the current status of GIFTO and how GIFTO is going to be adopted by mass market consumers in 2018. More than 100 people visited to this meetup, and it was a great networking session with people from South Korea’s blockchain industry.
