GIFTO Weekly Update — 20 March 2018

A Message from Andy Tian, CEO and co-founder of Uplive

Welcome everyone to our weekly update!

We have invited hundreds of community members to participate in the internal testing stage for our GIFTO wallet last week. During the test, everyone participated actively and gave many valuable suggestions. Here are some of the feedback that we got:

  • To install some pop-up windows for help within the GIFTO wallet as non-digital currency users may find it difficult to use
  • How can I transfer GTO to my Uplive friend? Can you include an option to choose a friend’s Eth address?
  • Users of the GIFTO wallet wants to make a transaction from the exchange to the GIFTO Wallet, but is unable to find a way in

With regard to the suggestions provided by our users, we have divided them into bugs and optimization. After we have consolidated the feedback, we will hold a product conference and prioritize these feedback and iterate through future developments of the GIFTO wallet. We would like to give our utmost thanks for the advice given by Giftoers.

Ask Andy Anything(AAA)

Thank you guys for asking some great questions this week! In this week’s AAA, I have talked about the future of GIFTO and our plans to implement our Universal Gifting platform on YouTube. I have also touch on some more details about the GIFTO wallet and the benefits of our hybrid chain.

Many of our followers were concerned about the transaction time and gas cost in order to use GIFTO. With our hybrid chain, we will be able to negate these costs within the wallet and our private chain. This means that users only need to pay for gas when they send GIFTO to their wallets on the public chain.

Please find the questions from the interview as below:

1. Will GIFTO integrate into Binance’s newly announced public blockchain?

GIFTO will continue to watch Binance’s development closely and expand our partnership if it’s right for us. Binance’s public blockchain will have many benefits, but it will also be significantly slower at processing transactions than the private chain. In the near term, we will focus on building our own users within the GIFTO wallet where there are zero transaction costs.

2. Will GIFTO target the gaming community via Twitch?

Twitch is the largest live streaming platform in the world and we welcome any future opportunities to support gamers. We will first have to modify our product to ensure that the user experience is suitable for gamers. The way our product works in Uplive is to create a constant stream of gift animation so the content creator knows they have received a gift. This may be viewed as a distraction to gamers focused on the video. In the future, we will have to reconsider the design interface so that gamers can also enjoy virtual gifting. For now we will start to implement our Universal Gifting Protocol through YouTube.

3. As the former CEO at Zynga China, are you a big gamer? What’s your favorite video game and why?

I love multiplayer games that you can play with friends and several war-themed Zynga games.

4. Is the GTO team testing API with YouTube?

Our Universal Gifting dashboard works across all social media platforms so currently we don’t have a partnership with YouTube. Having worked for Google, I know a lot of the YouTube team and welcome a partnership once we have gained some progress in the amount of users. Our first goal is to help YouTubers monetize their content through our dashboard and if there are greater opportunities in the future we will consider those too.

5. Will the Ethereum network be able to handle the large volume of GIFTO transactions across Facebook, Instagram and Youtube?

The GIFTO blockchain incorporates both a private and public chain. Any GIFTO transaction within Uplive will be done through our private blockchain where we can handle a higher volume of transactions than the public chain. Additionally, we will not change for transactions within the GIFTO wallet, but a gas fee will be required for transfers to wallets outside of the GIFTO.

Community Activities

  1. White Day — Virtual Gifts Gifting Activity

Event Link: https://valentine.gifto.io/

Our team is also working on different scenarios where the gifts can be used. Among them, Social Gifting is an area that we will pursue again. We will iterate on some social gifting product experiences in the future and turn virtual gifting into a more interesting activity.

From now on, log in and choose a virtual gift for your special loved one. The top 100 users who successfully send GTO gifts will receive 150 GTO worth of rewards. Whilst stocks last!

You need to use the Metamask wallet to participate in this event. The awarded GTO will be sent to the Metamask’s ETH address directly after the event ends.

2. Korea Spring Rotary Event

GIFTO Korea held a spring rotary event for the Korean community this week and the event attracted many users. Due to an overwhelming number of participants and with the maximum prize reached within 48 hours, we had to end the event early. We are very grateful for the enthusiastic participation of our community members and we truly appreciate the support for GIFTO. Prizes will be distributed within 7–10 business days after statistics from the event are tabulated. For future global community events, please refer to our telegram group (@GiftoOfficial).

3. Andy and the 2018 TOKENSKY Blockchain Conference Seoul Session

Andy attended the 2018 TOKENSKY Blockchain Conference in Seoul, Grand Hilton Hotel, on 14 and 15 March. Andy introduced GIFTO’s roadmap and its current development plan in his presentation. The conference was also attended by many other leaders in the industry to discuss important issues and challenges of blockchain.

We look forward to seeing you guys next week!

Uplive, Gifto, and our partners in the news

1) A live interview with Andy Tian, CEO of GIFTO, after its first token sale

Andy said: “As of February, we have over 35 million users. Actually, we had 20 million users back in October when we first started writing our white paper. But things change, Uplive is still a very young platform it was only launched in June 2016. 2018 is our growth year, so I think that by the end of the year we will be looking at about 100 million users in Uplive. We hope to use that user base to really make blockchain applications real.”

2) Uplive’s Advertisement in Beijing Subway Stations
