GIFTO Weekly Updates — 26 February 2018
Welcome everyone to our weekly update!
Due to the Lunar New Year celebrations, our weekly news update was suspended for a week. Therefore, we have a few things to share this week.
“The Forever Rose” Project
GIFTO and world renowned conceptual artist Kevin Abosch announced a collaboration to create a unique crypto-artwork, called “The Forever Rose”, which was known as “The world’s most valuable virtual art” worth US$1 million worth of cryptocurrency. The digital artwork was bought using two cryptocurrencies — GTO by GIFTO and IAMA by Kevin Abosch.
“The Forever Rose” was sold to 10 buyers on February 14. The US$1 million worth of cryptocurrency raised from the sale will be donated to The CoderDojo Foundation, whose mission is to ensure that every child around the world should have the opportunity to learn code and to be creative with technology in a safe and social environment.
We would like to thank and congratulate the 10 world’s first blockchain charity crypto art collectors! There are already other organizations that want to buy “The Forever Rose” at three times the price, but we suggest that everyone should hold on to it as there is huge potential in the future for this historic artwork.
The 10 collectors are:
• ORCA Fund, the premier digital asset fund in Asia
• Future Money and Ink, a leading blockchain investment fund and IP asset exchange
• Node Capital and Jinse Finance, a leading crypto fund and financial media in Asia
• TLDR Capital, a leading blockchain advisory firm
• Project Boosto, power global influencers with their own dApps and tokens
• Project DAC, a platform for decentralized interactive audio
• Project Nebulas, a search framework for blockchains
• Project Caring Chain, a decentralized charitable cause platform
• Ms. Meng Zu, a leading crypto investor in China
• 1 collector who wishes to remain anonymous
The world’s first blockchain charity crypto-artwork is the first global blockchain project to be covered by CNN, and news of the artwork has also been covered by Western media in various languages. We hope this project will expand the influence of blockchain in arts and social welfare and also expand the application of GIFTO.
A key part of this art project will be a participatory activity where people around the world can submit videos to us to document their views on the project, blockchain, arts, and the public interest. We’ll put these videos on our site for people around the world to join in the discussion. If you would like to have people from all over the world watch your video, you may upload it to any of your video platforms of choice and send the link to rose@gifto.io. We hope to hear from you!
Blockchain Game
FWP is a sibling team of GIFTO. The former Zynga gaming team had built on the successful experience of Uplive games and gone through repeated polishing and optimization before launching the games. The FWP interface contains three games called Lucky Fruit, Horse Race and Amethyst Slots.
Multiple iterations were carried out during the initial stage of game development. On February 9, 2018, we conducted a small-scale test with a selection of enthusiastic volunteers and received a lot of constructive feedback. We have since optimized the game based on everyone’s feedback. Testing of the game will begin on February 27, 2018 and will be used on Telegram. In the meantime, we are also working hard to develop more blockchain game products. Please look forward to them!
Binance Event
We are happy to have organized several Valentine’s Day events on our partner, Binance’s platform. The events were strongly supported by Binance and had received unexpected results. Trading volume had reached US$130 million day, placing it at 10th in the world. It is also the first blockchain project to reach the list of the top 10 applications, in terms of volume. At present, our activities have ended and we would like to thank everyone for your support.
Binance conducted a lucky draw on February 26 at 10am. The lucky draw was streamed on our live streaming platform, Uplive. The list of winners are as shown below:
New partnership
We have entered into a strategic partnership with DATA, the core value of the DATA project is Data Authentication Protocol / Technology. By accessing the DATA project, DATA can detect malicious nodes in GIFTO ecosystem and prevent them from generating fake virtual gifts under its reputation management system. In addition, under advertisement monetization scenarios, users and global content creators within the GIFTO ecosystem can leverage on the technology solution of DATA to get rewarded for their attention contribution under proof of attention (PoA) mining rules.
Our overall goal for 2018 remains unchanged: Creating the largest consumer application of blockchain technology measured by actual user data.
Until next week!
Andy and the GIFTO Team
Uplive, Gifto, and our partners in the news
1) Blockchain-based Rewards Benefit Independent Content Creators
GIFTO allows users to award virtual gifts across all platforms. These gifts can then be exchanged for GTO tokens, which in turn can be exchanged for fiat currency. These gifts can be awarded on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or any social network platform. Uplive generated over $100 million in revenue for content generators in 2017.
2) The world’s first blockchain virtual artwork sold at a high price
Taiwan’s largest mainstream economic media carried a substantial report on “The Forever Rose”, as a move that combined blockchain, artistic creation, and social welfare. This represented a fantastic opportunity to let the public know about the tremendous value that blockchain technology brings.
“The Forever Rose” is not only the world’s first blockchain virtual artwork, it is also the most expensive virtual artwork to-date!
GIFTO Korea
Andy and Kevin Abosch visited to Korea for ‘Forever Rose’ media conference, which was held in Seoul, Korea last week. More than 28 media outlets came to the media conference, and about 66 news articles were released in Korea alone. The news of “The Forever Rose” was covered on ‘News Today’ of MBC, which one of the main broadcasting corporations in Korea.

Investors, stakeholders, industry leaders and ICO startups came together to talk about the industry challenges and shared new ideas regarding blockchain technology and their projects.
