Gigajoule is the solution to global problems!

Gigajoule is a project that uses some of the most advanced technology in the field of electricity generation together witha unique delivery system — floating platforms. Each Gigajoule floating power plant will be installed on a special barge and will consist of two turbines with SGT-A65 gas engine. The capacity of the floating power plant will be 132 MW. Each project will consist of 4 barges with a total capacity of 528 MW. The technology that underpins Gigajoule floating power plants is provided by Siemens.

The Gigajoule solution was created to address the problem of access to electricity, which affects millions of people around the world and is particularly evident in African countries. The current model of electricity generation in these countries uses a variety of power plants, many of which are uneconomical and environmentally damaging. In addition, their output is not nearly able to meet the growing demand for electricity.
