Last week Meta announced that they are piloting the new Digital Collectibles feature on Instagram for Flow NFTs with a handful of creators and collectors in the space. Meta also integrated with Dapper Wallet so that users can connect their wallets to display and share their NFT collections on their IG. This feature will be rolling out to all Instagram users soon.

So what does this mean for Gigantik platform partners with collections on the Dapper Wallet?

As a Gigantik customer on Dapper Wallet, your NFT collections will be shareable once the Instagram user connects their Dapper Wallet. So there’s nothing to do except sit back and watch the engagement go up!

You should know that this is great for your project’s visibility and community. Many NFTs feature digital works of art and are meant to be shared and displayed proudly. So adding this functionality to one of the world’s leading social sharing platforms only makes sense. Now collectors can safely and verifiably display their digital works with their community for broader reach. The NFTs can automatically tag the creator, in this case, that’s you, and descriptions pulled from NFT metadata can lead users back to your marketplace. Cha-Ching!

What’s next?

We know from the announcement that Meta will continue to expand on this initiative across its other properties, starting with Facebook. They’ll also incorporate the Spark AR technology to display 2D and later 3D NFTs in AR. Read about it here. So if you were thinking about slacking off on artwork for your next collection, think again. Great art will always be the preferred choice over mediocre art, and NFTs that incorporate 3D components and files will continue to add value over time as we dabble further in the “Meta” verse.
