Microsoft has announced some new features that will help remote work, Mark Hachman reports:

real-time noise suppression, a “raise hand” feature, offline and low-bandwidth support features, and the ability to “pop out” a chat into a separate window. Microsoft said the chat feature is coming “soon.”

Teams has jumped to 44M daily active users, according to recent reports.

Microsoft also announced Microsoft 365 Business Voice, a cloud telephone system in Teams and Office 365 in general.

Slack has unveiled a new UI, according to Tom Warren:

This is the largest redesign in Slack’s history,” explains Ethan Eismann, vice president of design at Slack, in an interview with The Verge. “We’ve taken a lot of the historical features and reorganized them in a way that makes them much more apparent in the right way and simple to use. That was very much the goal of this process.”

Slack’s new redesign all starts with the sidebar. The biggest change is that messages, channels, and apps will all now support grouping into collapsible sections within the Slack…
