Lizette Moses

In my first post on this blog, I thought of writing about Lizette. She is one of the most amazing people I had got the opportunity to work with (as a technology provider to her company).

It is rare to come across someone who has deep understanding of the clean energy space coupled with a desire to build something bigger, and making an impact. Here is Lizette talking about her dream:

I’ve always wanted to be a part of building something, helping our environment and leaving this earth better than I found it.

During my 16 years at one of California’s Investor Owned Utilities, Southern California Edison (SCE), I not only expanded my knowledge about clean energy, I was able to help create contract structures for renewable resources that were good for California and SCE’s customer’s. While, I enjoyed my time and the many projects I was apart of at SCE, I still left unfulfilled my desire to be a part of building something. Thus, I needed to take a leap, leave my “home” and embark on a new adventure with a whole new set of challenges.

I met her last year when she was working on a mega plan to scale up battery energy storage projects in North America. At her company esVolta, where she leads Asset Management. She is responsible for overseeing the operations of all of the company’s projects, ranging from a few MWhs for the pilot projects to the 700 MWhs+ of contracted projects and eventually the projects in esVolta’s pipeline of 2 GWh.

Here is what Lizette thinks of realizing her dream, and way forward:

In my new journey to build something, esVolta fits the bill perfectly. With esVolta, my desire to be a part of building something great has been met in more ways than one. I joined the company at its inception and have been a part of not only building energy storage projects that have already helped our state and SCE keep the lights on during the latest heatwave, I’ve also been a part of building a company that I am proud to work for.

Lizette’s linkedin profile is here and more about esVolta can be read here.
