Knowing your audience right is the first and the most important task for a successful gig, as it’s the audience you are performing and entertaining them is your foremost concern. There may be people of certain age groups, people having different tastes in music, people who belong to different states and regions. To engage the crowd, think of lines that the audience could relate to. Say lines in their regional language or just get in the mood of the song. While performing keep monitoring the interest of the audience. Your audience will definitely drool over your tunes.

Maintain Eye Contact

During your performance, don’t be still, standing at the center; rather try covering the stage and glance through the audience. Give proper attention to the crowd at the back. Scan through the audience, know their mood and set the stage on fire by performing a song as per their expectations.

Gestures and Movements

Audience notices your gestures and they try imitate them as well. You can engage your crowd by waving hands or by jumping. Want applauds? Try clapping as you sing. You’ll witness echo of unmistakable sound of gig going great.

Dress Right

Choose the outfit that goes with the ambiance and at the same it must be outrageous enough for the crowd to remember you.Try making the background and setup gel with the surroundings. also quirky instruments are good to go.

Keep Up Your Humor Quotient

Try making your audience laugh.Humor is the ultimate ice breaker and a sure shot technique to engage crowd attention. Tell instances that are funny or respond to the crowd to keep the mood light and cheerful.

Enjoy Yourself

The audience will enjoy ad pay attention to the gig, if you are enjoying and having fun on stage. The crowd can see that you love what you’re doing by the way you act on stage. The more you engage your audience, the more engaging you become.
