Automated Emails — Developer Log # 12 — Giig Hire — 13th June

We are continually trying to push Giig forward and we are always looking at ways to bring big and better features that save our features more time. We think this latest push does exactly that.

Introducing our big feature for this push; Automated Emails. At the point where you are submitting an applicant, sending them for interview or completing the process you can now instantly email the candidate and employer of the progress.

New Features

• Automated Emails — Automatically send emails to the candidate and the contact at certain action points across the platform. Automated emails allow you to standardise and systemise your communication at certain points for workflow efficiency.
• Preset Automated Email Templates — Use and edit preset templates to instantly populate automated emails complete and make use of mail merge tags to personalise the automated emails to your liking.
• Custom Email Templates — Create your own email templates to be used across single email and bulk emails.
• Email Attachments — Add a single or multiple attachments to any email.
• Contact/Candidate Unsubscribe — We’ve added the option to enable an Unsubscribe link to the bottom of your emails allowing you to stay compliant with GDPR rules when sending marketing emails.

New Addition

• Nigerian Currency — Addition of the Nigerian currency symbol to the platform.
• Email Unsubscribe Link —
• Email Disclaimer Field — You can now add a disclaimer to your email signature, which will display as smaller text at the end of each email sent out through the platform.
• Mail Merge for single email — When loading in an email template that contains merge tags, the system will now automatically replace the tags with the relevant information for the contact.
• Mail Merge tags now insert inline instead of at the end of the email.
• Visual displays on candidate/contact cards and candidate/contact databases for users that have unsubscribed from receiving emails.
• Expand Email Window — a simple button has been added to the email window to expand the view.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed an issue where the tabs inside a candidate were become unresponsive.
• Fixed a bug whereby the user was asked to create their first company even if they had already done so.
• Fixed an issue where email API refresh tokens were not refreshing correctly for some users
• Fixed an issue where HTML formatting was not working correctly in emails sent through the system.
• Fixed an issue where bulk emails couldn’t be sent through the Gmail integration.
• Fixed an issue where bulk emails would fail to send if there was a validation error on the email form.
• Fixed an issue where double spaces were added for emails.
