Bulk Email— Developer Log #7 — Giig Hire — 10th January
We’re storming into the new year with a new update to the Giig Hire platform. We continue to try and push the boundaries to provide a powerful free product for freelancer or independent recruiters to run their entire business from one place.
We have a way to go still to achieve this goal. But with this big push, we take a big step forward to that goal. Notably in this update we introduce mass/bulk email functionality along with merge tags to customise the email with name, and role titles.
With Christmas, New Year and everything else that comes with trying to build a Saas product, this update has taken a long time to push so I have added a full breakdown of changes made which you can read below.
New Features
- Contact Card — We have now added a contact card to the platform where you can now add notes and manage email communication with your contacts.
- Mass Email — Following the introduction of our email integration with Outlook, we now bring the functionality to be able to bulk email your contacts and candidates.
- Mail Merge Tags — With mass email, you need personalisation so we’ve also introduced mail merge tags which; in its first implementation takes
- Job Board Widget — We have now added a job board widget for our users who may not want to use our website builder. They can now have a job board as an embed for their website.
- New Website Editor — As the website builder has become more complex we have implemented a new section editor to allow for continual growth on the builder.
- New Website Header Banner Creator — What is a website with out a nice striking banner. The new header block now provides an easy to builder header that gives your website a wow factor.
New Additions
- Website Builder Additions — Header structure, Menu Update, Full Width and boxed, bg colour, text colour.
- New Email Gather Process — We have changed the way that we gather emails when viewing candidates and contacts to improve the way the email integration works when working with your team on Giig.
- Tag notes with a contact — When adding a company note you can now tag the note with a contact. Tagged notes will also show on the new contact card.
- Send & Receive to contacts — With the new contact card, you can now manage your email communication with your contacts.
- New Industry “Advertising Services” Added
- Advanced Search All Candidates — You no longer need to provide a keyword to use the advanced search. Now you can query the salary and location of all candidates.
- New Trustpilot and Youtube Dashboard Links — Quick links to view and leave a review. And view our YouTube channel.
- Candidate Statuses — Aswell as being able to move the candidate through the process on the pipeline, you can now do so within the candidate card.
- Updated Card Billing Structure — We were finding that users found our billing page unnecessarily complex. So this update brings a more standard structure.
- Change From Freelancer To Giig + — We have made the transition to call our paid plan called Giig+ instead of Freelancer. It better represents what we offer and is instantly understandable.
- Jobs Board CTA block — Along with the new widget, we’ve also built a new block to allow for a home page CTA to take people straight to your job board.
- Website Settings — The website settings have now been moved to the settings page to fall inline with our standard structure. Making it easier to update the essential settings for your Giig site.
- Disconnect Email — You can now disconnect your email integration from the system if you feel like you no longer would like this functionality.
- Quick Email Buttons — Everywhere possible across the platform we have now added quick links to instantly start emailing your candidates and contacts.
Bug Fixes
- Squashed a bug where the “Send To Job” button on the candidate card wasn’t working correctly.
- Fixed an issue where the “CV added” tick was unchecking on editing a candidate.
- Fixed a styling issue with the dashbaord when viewing on a device with a screen size between a standard desktop and iPad.
