August 2019 at Gimbl

This month can be summed up pretty easily: a sprint. With both TwitchCon and our product launch drawing nearer every day, it’s all hands on deck at Gimbl!

Before we dive in, though, we’d just like to truly and sincerely thank all of our followers and fans for the phenomenal response we had to our Co-Founders Q&A earlier this month. We received a LOT of questions and SO many messages of support. We’re sorry that not every single question could be answered in this Q&A, but we’ll definitely be revisiting them when we have our next one!

From the entire Gimbl team, thank you for your support!

We have a new hire!

Our search for a Marketing Manager is over! We had high expectations for this position, and we needed just the right fit, and we found him! Please join us in welcoming Niki to the Gimbl family!

Niki comes to us five years into his career as a marketing guru, having worked with the iGaming industry, the finance industry, and the real estate industry. He’s excited to start working with eSports and eSports betting, and is a passionate believer that they’re the future of entertainment,

Niki is a 29-year-old animal lover and musician. He can be found rocking out to the tunes of Oasis, The Beatles, Pink Floyd and other classic rock legends. Like all of us at Gimbl, Niki is also a gamer who’s spent time with titles like Red Dead Redemption 2, Fortnite, GTA V, and FIFA.

r/Gimbl — our new subReddit!

Way back in GMU #9 we mentioned that we were recommitting to giving our community more love and attention. We now want to take that a step further: We want to help build a community that doesn’t just communicate with us, but where members communicate with each other.

We want an online space where everyone who’s united under the Gimbl umbrella can interact with each other, share memes, and have discussions about eSports, streaming, and gaming.

With that in mind, we want to invite all of you to join us in our new subReddit: r/Gimbl

We look forward to seeing your first posts!

TwitchCon 2019

Last month, in GMU #11, we announced that we would be running a booth at TwitchCon 2019. As you can imagine, we’ve been putting a lot of time and energy into making sure we’re ready for it, and it’s now only a month away!

We’ve been working with a highly qualified, and highly recommended designer who is helping us create the perfect booth to show Gimbl.gg to the world. An environment where all of our hard work can be showcased, and people will feel comfortable to spend some time in.

We’ve mentioned a number of times that user experience is a huge factor that helps inform our decisions here at Gimbl, and that extends to our TwitchCon booth too. We want to create an experience that is comfortable, exciting, and unique. A space where people not only want to learn more about us, but will be clamoring to get their hands on our interactive, fully-automated demo that we’ll be unveiling in San Diego.

And, of course, our main goal is to spend time talking to streamers, eAthletes, and their fans to help onboard as many content creators and fans as possible. Luckily for us, TwitchCon is the perfect place to do that, and we’re so excited to get there!

Product update:

We’ve been hard at work with making sure that we stay the course on our Autumn release schedule. This month, we want to shine the light on an invaluable part of Gimbl.gg: the Gimbl Streamr Helper

This is the tool that allows all the Gimbl magic to happen, and we have big plans for the future of this little app.

Gimbl Streamrs will be able to log in, view their active and scheduled streams, and will need to have this running in the background while streaming. This is what communicates between your PC and the Gimbl platform to set up that smooth, seamless experience we’re going to be providing to Streamrs as the challenges and donations come in.

In addition to this, we also want to unveil the Streamr interface! When Streamrs are on Gimbl.gg, they’ll be able to track their challenges, donations, and (eventually) bets through a handy info-screen.

Earnings, stakes, and progress are all updated in real-time, meaning Streamrs always have the information they need to succeed. Take a look below!

Moving Forward

TwitchCon is only a few weeks away now. By the time our next GMU comes out, we’ll have just returned from San Diego, and Gimbl.gg’s first public demo. If you happen to be going to TwitchCon 2019, don’t forget to come by and say “Hi!”, we’d love to meet you!

In the meantime, don’t forget to join our brand new subReddit (r/Gimbl), and to sign up to our newsletter to get updates like this delivered directly to your inbox, as well as gaming and esports content like our Games That Changed Gaming series!
