✨Gimkit 4.0 is Almost Here! What’s New?

About a year ago, Josh announced Gimkit 3.0 from his bedroom.

My, how things have changed!

Since that last major upgrade, Josh graduated from high school, we’ve doubled in staff size, moved to a new office (no more announcements from Josh’s bedroom!), and the number of Gimkit accounts increased by almost 800%!

Gimkit 4.0, our largest update ever, is the result of all of the AMAZING suggestions and feedback we’ve gotten from educators and students. We’ve loved hearing your insights and learning about your experiences with Gimkit. We’re excited to share the newest phase of Gimkit with you!

There’s so much to know about Gimkit 4.0 coming out September 30th, here are some highlights!

✏️ Kit Creator

Our Kit Creator has been rebuilt entirely from the ground up. It’s been completely redesigned to make it easier & faster for you to get questions added and into your Kit!

💾 Auto-Save

No more lost work! The Kit Creator now saves as you go! So whether you are adding questions, removing them, or editing them, everything will be kept up to date!

👂🏻Audio Questions

Record your voice and attach it to a question! Perfect for foreign language questions or for students that have a hard time reading.

🤲Add Questions from Anywhere and Anytime

Want to start creating some of your own questions and then use our question bank? Want to run KitCollab more than once on the same Kit? Now you can! With the new editor, you can add questions from any source (Create Question, KitCollab, Question Bank, Spreadsheet Import) anywhere and anytime!

🗄️Question Bank:

With the new Question Bank, you can quickly import questions in from other Kits! Or quickly bring in all questions from two Kits to merge the two together!

📸Image Answers

Attach images to answers for some more visual questions! Great for science questions where you may have to identify what something is!

🏠 New Dashboard

The new Dashboard has been completely redesigned. To make it easier to find what you need: Kits, Assignments, Seasons, and more!

🔍 Updated Kit Search

Kit Search has been updated to make it even easier to find Kits made my other educators! We’ve updated our algorithm to show better search results. Plus, there’s a brand new search interface. Hover over a Kit and quickly view the questions on the right. Or click the Kit to fully open it!

📊 Interactive Reports

Say goodbye to PDFs! With this new version, you’ll be able to quickly find the data you need to best understand what your students need help with!

👩‍🎓Student Overview

The brand new Student Overview section gives you a quick look at how each student performed. Students are sorted in alphabetical order. Next to each student, see their questions correct, incorrect & accuracy. Click on a student’s name to get their full report.

📖Question Breakdown

Our updated question breakdown makes it easier to understand what students need help with. Questions are now sorted from lowest accuracy to highest accuracy. If your question has images or audio, you can now see them inline and you can click a question to expand and view the answers.

🙋‍♂️Individual Reports

If you’re looking for data on a specific student, students are now sorted in alphabetical order on the left side. Click on a student’s name to get their full report.

🖨️Quick Print

Still want a printable version of your reports? There’s a print button on the top of each section, so you can print out exactly what you need.

🔑 Accounts

We’ve made some big improvements to accounts, including a new way to sign in + allowing students to create accounts! Here’s what’s new!

🖊Google Sign On

Google Sign on is here! Quickly get into your Gimkit account with a single click! The best part? NO PASSWORD NEEDED!

🏫 Student Accounts

Students can now register for Gimkit accounts and make their own Kits to study with! In the future, we’ll be adding features that tie in directly to student accounts.

🔒Updated Privacy Policy

We’ve been working over the last few months on a new privacy policy and we’re happy to say that Gimkit is now FERPA & COPPA compliant!

💳 New Pro Pass Plan

Say that three times fast! Our new Pro Pass Plan is replacing Gimkit Go, billing monthly. When you subscribe, you’ll have the option to upgrade for a month, or keep it recurring. No plans are changing for current Gimkit users. Whether you have Go, Pro, or Basic, you will not be charged any differently and will retain all the features you have + everything in 4.0.

🎮 Game Content

We wanted to give you the first full month of school for all your new students to get familiar with Gimkit. Now, the game is about to change! We’ll be regularly introducing new game content throughout the year, such as powerups, modes, events and more!

Launching with Gimkit 4.0 is brand new limited-time mode: Boss Battle! If you have that one student who usually wins or want to jump into a game with your students, this is the mode for you!

In Boss Battle, it’s the Boss against The Challengers (everybody else). If there’s 15 challengers, the Boss’s earnings will be multiplied by 15x. Play some rounds and see if The Challengers can defeat The Boss!

This mode will be available for a limited time with the launch of Gimkit 4.0, so drop in and have fun!
