Hello all, we are very excited at Gimli as the Token Sale date draws near!

The Gimli ICO is live at 12 PM noon GMT September 18th.

In order to participate in the ICO, there are a few preparatory steps needed. We have created a series of process walkthroughs providing instructions on how to participate in the Gimli Token Sale.

We will cover:

  1. Setting up an address on a wallet that supports participating in Token Sales (Ex. MyEtherWallet)
  2. Transferring ETH from an Exchange to a wallet (From Coinbase to MyEtherWallet)
  3. Sending ETH to the Gimli Token Sale address

1. Setting up an address on a wallet that supports participating in Token Sales

There are other wallets you may use in the crypto space. This walkthrough focuses on using MyEtherWallet.

Step 1.1:

Open a browser and navigate to: https://www.myetherwallet.com/

Note: As the MyEtherWallet repeatedly warns, please check the URL: https://www.myetherwallet.com/. If your URL is different, you are likely on a phishing website.

Step 1.2:

Enter a password in the box. Make sure to save the password, it cannot be recovered if you forget it. Click on “Create New Wallet”.

Step 1.3:

Click “Download” to save your Keystore File and back it up in a safe location. An example is to store it an encrypted USB device which is then placed in a secure safety deposit box.

This is required to access your account for future transactions.

If you misplace this, you will not be able to access your account again.

If it is stolen, you may lose all of your ETH or other tokens in the wallet.

Step 1.4:

This step is optional but very useful. Click “Print Paper Wallet” to obtain an unencrypted copy of your wallet’s essential information.

Step 1.5:

Save your Private Key. Do not lose this and do not give this to anyone. There is no need for anyone but you to know it. Not for an ICO, not even for a support employee. No human being but you should ever know this.

Step 1.6:

You’re done!

2. Transferring ETH from an Exchange to MyEtherWallet

Transferring ETH to your MyEtherWallet is pretty simple. You just need to send ETH to the MyEtherWallet address you just created. This can be done through purchasing ETH from an exchange.

There are other Exchanges you may use in the crypto space. This walkthrough focuses on using Coinbase.

Step 2.1:

Sign-in to your Coinbase Account.

Step 2.2:

Select “Send/Request” and enter the desired amount to be transferred to your Wallet.

Take note of the network fee, a surcharge calculated as a percentage of the sum transferred.

This sum will be reflected at the end of the transaction.

Step 2.3:

Enter the verification code sent to your mobile via SMS and click “Confirm”

You will be redirected to a confirmation page with the amount transferred.

\

Step 2.4 (Optional):

To check, go to MyEther Wallet and enter your address details.

There should now be an increase in the balance corresponding to the amount transferred earlier (less network fee).

You now have ETH in your own MyEtherWallet! Please remember to keep your keystore file, private key, and recovery phrase in a secure location and never share them with anybody. Before you are able to send ETH to the Token Sale address, you will need to complete your registration.

3. Sending ETH to the Token Sale address

Time to send your ETH! Remember, you can only do so once your account has been approved.

Step 3.1:

Go to the Token Launch Page at https://gimli.io/token-launch/ and find the Token Sale Address.

The address will be shown once the token sale, but you may only send ETH after token sale starts at 12 PM noon GMT, or 2 PM CET on September 18th. Please don’t send your ETH before as it will be automatically rejected and you will waste the funds to pay for gas.

Step 3.2:

Open your Web Browser and navigate to: https://www.myetherwallet.com/

Note: As the MyEtherWallet repeatedly warns, please check the URL: https://www.myetherwallet.com/. If your URL is different, you are likely on a phishing website.

Step 3.3:

Check that you are on the MyEtherWallet network.

Step 3.4:

Unlock your address (in this example, we use a keystore file — you may also use other methods):

  1. Go to Send Ether & Tokens
  2. Select Keystore File (UTC / JSON)
  3. Select your Wallet File (where you saved your keystore file)
  4. Enter your password
  5. Select Unlock
Step 5:

Copy the token sale address shown on Step 1 and paste under To Address, followed by the amount of ETH you’d like to send under Amount to Send.

Another note: the error message below may show up if your Gas Limit is insufficient. We recommend setting the Gas Limit to 250,000.

Step 3.5:

Click on Generate Transaction.

Step 3.6:

Click on Send Transaction.

Step 3.7:

Check the transaction details, then click Yes, I am sure!

Warning! KOVAN refers to the Ethereum test network. You should not see this word when you are sending your ETH.

Step 3.8 (Optional):

You will see this message bar appear at the bottom of your browser. You may click on Verify Transaction to verify the status of your transaction.

You will be brought to a page on Etherscan showing details of your transaction.

Final Details

Some important details on the sending of funds:
