CashDesk, a Dutch provider of restaurant software, has used Ginger’s cloud based ‘POS Connector’ before (reference to POS).

This time the POS connector was used for a slightly different purpose. Consumers could order online and pay in the store. It was realized in three weeks, skipping all technical cloud complexity, significantly reducing their time-to-market, and increasing customer happiness.

Connecting off- and online worlds in that Omnichannel approach: complex and time-consuming

After successfully establishing the value of their restaurant software, CashDesk was looking for a way to expand their offerings and to explore the Omnichannel trend even more. They wanted to mix both the on- and offline world even more. But pretty much the same thing happened as last time. They soon ran into the complexities of payment and cloud technology. In order to combine online ordering and offline payments, there are a lot of hoops to jump.

As a result, getting your application ready for an Omnichannel approach (although you have one in place already) can be quite a challenge. A significant amount of research and development is required to get everything set up. Combining off- and online worlds is a challenge and requires a large investment in time, weighing heavily on your resources and time-to-market.

Expanding the Omnichannel even more, again with Ginger’s POS connector

Ginger’s POS connector was already used for combining the on- and offline transactions in a single overview. This time we used it again only slightly different. CashDesk was able to expand their Omnichannel approach in just 3 weeks, skipping again a significant chunk of research and product development that otherwise would have taken months to complete.

In a previous use case the Ginger’s POS Connector allowed your application to process and display transactions with unparalleled speed & ease. In this solution we used it for a different purpose. It’s called “pay after pick up”. Consumer orders online and pays in the store.

The single RESTful API interface provides all the controls you need and none you don’t, and extensive reporting capabilities mean you’re always in-the-know of what has happened.

Great solution, easy setup, great team

After initial assessment of the requirements, Ginger joined forces with CashDesk’s technical owner again to reuse the Ginger POS Connector and create the possibility of ordering online and paying in the store (and still have a good overview of all transactions).

Similar to our other offerings, the POS Connector is managed by Ginger and operated by the client. We make sure it keeps running smoothly, you use it to get the job done. CashDesk uses the POS Connector as a connection with POS terminals, as a processor, processing all offline (POS) transactions as if they were online transaction and for displaying the result in a single overview.

“I have said it once and I will say it again. Ginger knows what she is talking about.”
