These collections and their art direction evolve from year to year, reflecting both changes in technology and the creative visions of our design teams. Previous iterations of the yearbook have captured the staff of a specific place and time through classic portrait studio photos, motion rigged camera arrays, stickers made from 3D scans, or psychedelic looping videos. While the aesthetic changes, each Yearbook’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology, and showcasing our team, remains unchanged.
For 2023, member portraits were placed within a video game modeled after GIPHY’s NYC and LA offices. Explore a hyper-cute geometric playground, knock over blocks, find friendly faces, collect swag, and uncover hidden gems and easter eggs along the way.
Developed using the collaborative web tool Spline, this interactive world was an opportunity for GIPHY’s Brand Team and Design Teams to take the sights, sounds and personality of a brand, and explode them into an interactive world. A testament to the company’s creativity and commitment to celebrating its employees in a unique and memorable way.
While the yearbooks aren’t usually shared publicly, the 10 year anniversary of GIPHY has us wanting to double down and celebrate the team that keeps GIPHY weird.
