GIPHY’s Emoji library is getting some exciting updates. Now, with a single tap (or click), you can expand the top sixteen emojis to expose over 70 total skin tones and variations. This important update makes our content library more representative of our user base and gives users the ability to easily discover and share GIPHY Emojis with which they most identify. The feature is accessible across all of our apps, including: GIPHY Gmail Extension, GIPHY Chrome Extension, GIPHY iOS + Android apps and corresponding keyboards.
Additionally, we paired our Emoji library with a purpose-built API, allowing developers to bring these animated reactions to their users with style and ease. GIPHY now has two new Emoji Endpoints (The Emoji Endpoint and The Emoji Variations Endpoint) available to our developer community via GIPHY’s SDK and API. Developers can find more supporting documentation on our website, including guidance on front-end implementation.
