Louisiana Rep. Mike Johnson was elected House speaker this week, ending nearly three weeks of uncertainty in the House of Representatives.

This October’s House speaker election was unprecedented; not only was it initiated by the ouster of predecessor Kevin McCarthy, but it also concluded after 22 days of paralysis and failed votes in the House.
