The 2023 Film Independent Spirit Awards rolled out the blue carpet Saturday night for its annual ceremony honoring the biggest and brightest talents in independent filmmaking. This year’s ceremony was an emotional one, as several actors won their first-ever Spirit Award, including “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once” star Stephanie Hsu.

Most-Viewed GIFs: Quinta Brunson, Michelle Yeoh, Molly Shannon
Several Spirit Award nominees and winners topped our list of the most-viewed GIFs from the 2023 Spirit Awards.
“Abbott Elementary” star Quinta Brunson continued her awards season streak Saturday night, taking home the award for Best Lead Performance in a New Scripted Series. This GIF from her acceptance speech was the third most-viewed GIF of the night with 5 million views, as of Monday.
“Everything, Everywhere, All at Once” star Michelle Yeoh made history at the 2023 Spirit Awards, becoming the first Asian person to win the night’s top acting honor, Best Lead Performance. This GIF of Yeoh accepting her award was the second most-viewed GIF of the night with 6.6 million views.
“SNL” icon and Spirit Awards nominee Molly Shannon notched the top spot on our list of the most-viewed GIFs from the 2023 Spirit Awards. This GIF of Shannon was the most-viewed GIF of the night with 10.8 million views.
Honorable Mention: “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once”
A24’s “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once” made a clean sweep at this year’s Spirit Awards, winning all seven of its nominated categories and breaking the record for the most awards given to a single film.
For starters, Ke Huy Quan won Best Supporting Performance Saturday night, notching the film’s first win of the night. During his speech, Quan thanked the film’s directors, the Daniels, for making “everyone feel equally important.”
Stephanie Hsu won the film’s second acting award at the Spirit Awards, taking home the award for Best Breakthrough Performance.
Hsu also won a spot on our list of the top 10 most-viewed GIFs from the night: this GIF from Hsu’s acceptance speech was the fifth most-viewed GIF of the night with 2.9 million views.
