The culture of food carts in Sudan is not popular or widespread, but there are two food carts in Khartoum that you definitely should visit and try them at least once when hanging out in Khartoum. The main entity responsible for introducing and promoting the concept of food carts in Khartoum is “food truck factory”.

1. Patata

Patata started in April 2021 and is specialized in offering London Potatoes, which is a grilled whole potatoes with desired additions of cheese, and a variety of sauces. Their location is in Abdulla Al-Tayeb Street and they’re open from 5 pm to 11 pm.

2. The Super Hotdog

The Super hotdog started in July 2020 and is specialized in offering a variety of hotdogs in their menu. They serve classic, BBQ, NYC, special, and super. Something that mimics the streets of NYC, which are famous for the hotdog food carts. They’re also located in Abdulla Al-Tayeb Street but they only work by evening shifts from 6 pm to 11 pm.

To sum, up the idea of food carts is still new in Khartoum, but there are some carts that deserve the attention. I mentioned only two food carts that I know of, and who knows maybe in the future we’ll witness the launch of new food carts.
