🎁 In 2021, we hosted 3 virtual Girl Geek Dinners and a virtual conference Elevate celebrating International Women’s Day. Stay tuned for more events (both IRL & virtual) in 2022!

As the pace of events dramatically slowed due to the ongoing pandemic, we sought to create new, meaningful opportunities to mobilize our community & support a local school with a new partnership with Oakland Public Education Fund, a non-profit connecting groups with schools, creating a positive impact on school culture & student achievement through relevant & meaningful volunteer projects.

🏫 The Girl Geek X community adopted a high school in East Oakland to support CCPA staff & students with over 3 dozen volunteers for a combined 76+ volunteer hours this fall. We helped staff prepare for school reopening in August, shared career advice with high school seniors in the auditorium in November, and provided feedback to high school seniors working on their capstone projects in December. More to come in the spring — here’s to 2022!

🎉 Good news: Girl Geek X CTO & co-founder Sukrutha Bhadouria was promoted to Director of Engineering at Salesforce in February 2021!

This year, we celebrated over a decade of hosting over 250 Girl Geek Dinners together in the San Francisco Bay Area. More to come in 2022!
