We ran two exciting competitions during CyberStart Assess and it’s time to announce our lucky winners…

Over the last three weeks, over 11,000 high school girls have registered to play Girls Go CyberStart.

Spread across 27 states, these incredible numbers show the amount of young women who have participated and have taken their first steps to become the next leaders in cybersecurity.

Alan Paller, Director of Research at the SANS Institute, said:

“I’m thrilled to see that so many schools across the country joined in with Girls Go CyberStart and empowered the next generation of young women to become leaders in an industry where they can make a real difference. I want to congratulate the schools who engaged huge numbers of girls with the program — we are glad to have you onboard and hope you enjoy your prizes.”

During this first stage of the program, CyberStart Assess, Girls Go CyberStart ran two competitions to celebrate the success of schools with high participation levels. We can now announce the winners across all the states that participated.

COMPETITION 01

The rules:

For every 5 girls registered to a Club, who have completed at least 2 challenges, your school will receive 1 entry for a chance to win $1,000.

The winners are:

York High, Virginia

Egg Harbor High School, New Jersey

Medina High School, North Dakota

COMPETITION 02

If there is a draw for first place, prize money from 1st and 2nd place will be shared between the two winners. If there are three or more people with the same total, then the prize money for 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be shared between all of the winners.
