With our final stage, the National Championship for Girls Go CyberStart 2019, drawing near, we wanted to give you an overview of what to expect from the competition, as well as some of the rules you need to know.

Congratulations on getting through to the National Championship for Girls Go CyberStart 2019! Excitement is building, but what does this final stage of Girls Go CyberStart actually entail?

How the National Championship for Girls Go Cyberstart 2019 will work:

  • The National Championship for Girls Go CyberStart 2019 starts on 9.00am ET, June 5 and ends at 6.59pm ET, June 7.
  • To sign in, students will need to use the same email address that they used to sign into their Girls Go CyberStart dashboard. However, students will be emailed a specific, unique-to-them password for their National Championship for Girls Go CyberStart 2019 application, along with the sign in URL. Students should get their passwords and URLs on Tuesday, June 4, 2019.
  • If your students don’t receive this email with their password, they should first check their Junk or Spam email folders. If they still don’t have the email, then they will need to email support to re-request their password.
  • A link to the leaderboard for the National Championship for Girls Go CyberStart 2019 will also be included in this email.

Requirements:

To be able to play in the National Championship for Girls Go CyberStart 2019, you will need the following:

  • Access to a computer
  • The Virtual Machine you downloaded from Game
  • Internet access

We have a few rules that students need to abide by:

  • Don’t try to hack the scoreboard: it is not a target.
  • Only target the specific URLs, files, and endpoints provided in the challenge briefings.
  • If you think something is broken, ask! We won’t give out hints, but we can check the status of a challenge and refresh it, if necessary.
  • If you think you’ve found an unintentional security failure or vulnerability — something outside a challenge — please email into support. We really value and encourage responsible disclosure.

Finally, the National Championship for Girls Go CyberStart 2019 is a team event. Your team doesn’t all need to be physically present in the same location, however we want you to discuss each task with each other, working together to understand each challenge and sharing your knowledge between you all.

We hope you have a great time in the final stage, and look forward to seeing how well you do!
