Singapore, February 7, 2019 — The Global ICO Transparency Alliance (GITA) is pleased to welcome KuCoin as a Supernode member today. KuCoin is one of the most popular cryptocurrency exchanges with over 5 million registered users globally. Existing Supernode members of GITA include Taiwan Fintech Association, Thai Blockchain Association, ICORating, Regulus Investment, and Capital Holdings, Hong Kong Blockchain Association, and Korean Blockchain Association.

GITA is a global member-based non-profit and non-governmental alliance formed by concerned individuals and professionals from the global blockchain community dedicated to promoting a self-regulatory and sustainable ecosystem for the industry. GITA was first initiated by a group of industry experts on May 6, 2018, in Hong Kong. The idea of establishing GITA was first introduced in Taiwan in April 2018 by Jaclyn Tsai (former Minister without Portfolio in Taiwan) of the Taiwan Fintech Association and was realized in collaboration with seven other members, each a member of leading blockchain organizations in their respective countries. GITA foundation council and Supernode members include Korea Blockchain Association, Hong Kong Blockchain Association, Thailand Blockchain Association, ICORating and Regulus Investment Vietnam as well as representatives from Crypto Valley and ACCESS Singapore.

Launched in September 2017, KuCoin has soon developed into a well-recognized brand across the globe. It puts a high priority on the quality of the projects listed based on a well-trained research team that scours the blockchain industry for the highest quality projects. Meanwhile, the exchange is always committed to bringing more transparency to the crypto world. For instance, wash trading is a problem that concerns investors and projects, while according to the research of Blockchain Transparency Institute (BTI), KuCoin is one of the few clean exchanges and it ranks 13th in terms of real trading volume. The digital asset trading platform recently announced its $20 million (USD) funding from IDG Capital, Matrix Partners, and NGC.

GITA is set up as a foundation in Singapore and aims to be the global forum for knowledge sharing and industry improvement, driving adoption of fundraising campaigns using blockchain. GITA will stipulate a minimum disclosure standard (GITA Disclosure Standards) in accordance with the requirements of regulators and industries worldwide and will facilitate efforts for the GITA Disclosure Standards to be globally accepted.

The Supernodes of GITA act as community leaders and organizers. Supernodes create their communities, namely the Nodes and members, and are encouraged to involve the Nodes and members in their community in contributing to the availability of information on the GITA Transparency Platform regarding updates on local rules and regulations, research material about industry trends and technology, and other relevant information. GITA is excited to have KuCoin join the existing Supernodes in growing the GITA community with a shared vision of promoting responsible blockchain projects, fostering good governance, integrity, and accountability, necessary for the long-term value creation of the underlying technology of blockchain.

Based on the principles of the blockchain, GITA is decentralized and consists of the Foundation Council, Supernodes, Nodes, and Steering Committees. GITA unites local and international blockchain associations, crypto investors, independent rating agencies, exchanges, media, members from academia and other industry players.
