KuCoin Interview
Q.Can you talk about your Company?
A. During my time at university, I became very interested in Bitcoin mining and blockchain technology. That is when my focus shifted to the crypto-world. Some of my friends and I are firm believers in the uses of blockchain technology and the idea of decentralization.
As cryptocurrencies became more popular, we were spending most of our free time thinking of ways to help blockchain technology become mainstream, and by early 2011 we started our in-depth research on blockchain technology. As we continued our research and our knowledge about blockchain technology grew, we started flirting with the idea of creating a user-friendly exchange platform where we would offer all people easy access to up and coming crypto projects.
Through my friends and acquaintances, we built a team of people that shared the same passion for blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies in 2012, and most importantly we all had the necessary skills and trusted each other. By 2013, we had successfully built KuCoin’s technical architecture. Once we had this dependable technical architecture in place, we knew that our team was ready to engage in the cryptocurrency exchange business confidently in 2017. As our platform came together and was getting closer to the launch date, we noticed the amount of ICOs that started in mid-2017 and how many were failing or were outright scams. At this point, we knew we had something better that would offer real value to users.
That is when we decided our exchange would be ‘The People’s Exchange.’ We aim to not only provide a platform for users with digital asset transactions and exchange services which are very safe and convenient but also find the best projects available and the ‘hidden gems’ of the crypto-world for our users.
Q2.What do you think about the GITA Transparency platform?
A: GITA is a global non-profit initiative, which aims to construct a completed self-regulatory framework inside blockchain industry. To be honest, a transparency platform setting the standards for self-disclosure that will guide and govern responsible ICO projects is very essential and is a necessary existence that is required by the whole industry, and we do hope that GITA can establish a sustainable ecosystem by screening out high-quality projects and bringing more transparency for the whole industry across the global, which is the vision that KuCoin pursues persistently.
Q3.How did you get to know about this project?
A: KuCoin has a long-term, intimate cooperative relation with ICO ratings and we would like to engage into a professional industry alliance to help blockchain to be the mainstream one day therefore we kindly accepted the invitation from ICO rating, which is one of the initiators of this project.
Q4.What is your opinion on the current status of Blockchain technology and STO?
A： In the current market environment, blockchain technology is very young and still in continuous development. We are very happy to see all kinds of innovations in the industry. The emergence of STO has given the public a new imagination. In my opinion, such high attention of related topics of STO actually reflects the user’s need for compliance and security. As an exchange platform, what we are thinking about in the near future is to adapt to this fast-changing environment and try our best to apply the highly advanced technology on our platform for providing convenient and safe services for our users.
