Microsoft

Microsoft needs no introduction. This American-based multinational company develops, manufactures, licenses, supports, and sells computer software, consumer electronics, personal computers, and countless other services.

The company’s foray into the world of blockchain is largely represented by Microsoft Azure. This cloud-based service helps organizations meet unique business challenges around the world. It provides companies with the ability to build, manage, and deploy blockchain networks using familiar tools and frameworks.

Posted Prize: Exchange — Token Application

Fortmatic

Fortmatic is a developer-first, Web3-compatible JavaScript SDK that can be implemented in any DApp with just a few lines of code. Because the Fortmatic SDK is compatible with web3, developers can simply swap their existing web3 provider with the Fortmatic provider, without having to change any of their existing web3 implementation. Fortmatic is also easy for new users, since it can be enabled with just a phone number, removing the need to download a long mnemonic or create an easy to forget password.

Perhaps most importantly, despite being easy to use Formatic is also highly secure, beyond the standards of many ecosystem wallets. For users’ private key security, they’ve adopted an architecture called cryptographic anchor, using hardware security modules (HSMs), which is also adopted by many custodial solutions in the ecosystem. On the user side, they’ve implemented protections against SIM hijacking, account recovery, and other useful security features.

Posted Prize: Ethereal Hackathon Bounty: Integrate Fortmatic in DApp

AdEx

AdEx is a trust-minimized protocol for digital advertising. Originating in 2017 as a decentralized exchange, AdEx evolved into a full protocol for decentralized digital advertising. The company aims to disrupt the existing online advertising landscape and address its pre-existing problems. These problems include advertising fraud, privacy, and consent to receiving sponsored messages or otherwise.

AdEx facilitates the trading of advertising space and time, subsequently verifying that this action has actually occurred. The protocol essentially covers all interactions between publishers, advertisers and end users. It combines traditional peer-to-peer technology, cryptography, and blockchain technology.

Chainlink

The Chainlink network connects Ethereum-based smart contacts with external data. The company contends that building a truly valuable smart contract requires the use of multiple inputs to prove contractual performance. It also requires the use of multiple outputs to affect outside systems or send payment to complete a smart contract.

Chainlink’s decentralized oracle network provides the same security mechanisms smart contracts are known for. By allowing multiple Chainlinks to evaluate the same data before it becomes a contract trigger, any one point of failure is eliminated and the overall value of a smart contract is maintained.

Kauri

The Kauri platform curates Ethereum articles, tutorials, documentation, and best practices for new developers and technical enthusiasts. While the Ethereum space is an incredibly welcoming community, Kauri acknowledges that there is a disorienting vacuum of technical documentation.

The platform also aims to improve the shortage of documentation that results from the fast-paced and rapidly evolving business models being driven by the Ethereum ecosystem. This space is often saturated with new protocols, crypto-mechanisms, and software on a seemingly weekly basis. Kauri brings together the best Ethereum resources to support the ecosystem.

Posted Prize: Help Improve Documentation For Plasma Group

LeapDAO

LeapDAO aims to address the limited capacity of the Ethereum blockchain. When gas prices rise, high-transaction-volume use-cases and low-value transactions are pushed off the chain. Leap DAO creates and maintains an execution environment that hosts these use-cases. This increases the capacity of the Ethereum network and expands the scope of possible DApps in the ecosystem.

LeapDAO combines Holacracy and Decentralized Organizations to build a global, self-managing and purpose-driven community. The project rewards contributions using bounties.

Posted Prize: Create A Plasma DApp

Kleros

Kleros provides fast, secure, and affordable arbitration for virtually everything. The platform connects users who need to solve disputes with skilled jurors to facilitate fair settlements. The Kleros resolution layer uses blockchain technology and crowdsourced jurors to adjudicate disputes.

The crowdsourcing component of the platform taps into a global pool of jurors. By leveraging the power of blockchain technology, there is also evidence of integrity and transparency in jury selection. Further, game theory provides incentives for honest rulings.

Alethio

Alethio is a robust blockchain data, analytics, and visualization platform. The platform has recently released its Core API product and Alethio Analytics tool suite for Ethereum. Using Alethio, developers can build more reliable Ethereum-powered products, faster.

Those using the platform gain access to synthesized, indexed data in real time. This allows for more informed decision making based on meaningful on-chain activity and analytics.

Posted Prize: Alethio API Freestyle

NuCypher

NuCypher describes its platform as privacy infrastructure for the decentralized web. The company’s main product, Umbral, is a threshold Proxy Re-Encryption (PRE) scheme that powers the NuCypher network. Using Umbral, a data owner can delegate decryption rights to a receiver for any ciphertext intended to her, through a re-encryption process performed by a set of semi-trusted proxies.

When a threshold of these proxies participate by performing re-encryption, the receiver is able to combine these independent re-encryptions and decrypt the original message using a private key. NuCypher also supports Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE). This is a form of encryption that allows arbitrary, secure computation on encrypted data.

Autom (8)

Autom(8) brands itself as the world’s first free and open serverless platform. This platform is a place where live functions can be shared, reused, and remixed. This functionality facilitates the creation of software that’s always running, never goes away, and anyone can contribute to.

If you’re building an API, application, or entire product, Autom(8) doesn’t think you should have to build every component from the ground up. Ultimately, the platform aims to build a shared library of services and a distributed, serverless network for them to run on.

Posted Prize: Autom(8) Meta Bounty!!!
