GitPOAP is live đ„ł
Weâre incredibly excited to share GitPOAP with the world today!
We believe that bringing software contributions on chain will enable an ecosystem of applications powered by on-chain professional reputation. Think of GitPOAPs as your on-chain resume that can easily be plugged into public goods funding, recruiting, and other tools aimed at supporting you and open source development.
Come celebrate the launch with us this Saturday April 9th at 12:00pm EST, details on the POAP.art canvas and other activities here!
Below is a quick guide to all things GitPOAP. If you have any questions or run into any issues feel free to drop by our discord or submit an issue report here.

How do I mint my GitPOAPs?
Head over to gitpoap.io and connect your Ethereum & GitHub accounts in the top right.
Once youâre connected, if youâre eligible for any GitPOAPs, youâll be able to mint them by clicking âView & Mintâ.
Quick tip: if âMintâ is greyed out for claiming a GitPOAP, make sure your Ethereum account is connected.
How can I configure my profile?
Once your Ethereum account is connected, youâll see a âProfileâ button appear in the top right of the screen.
On your profile you can add some information about yourself and feature your favorite POAPs (including GitPOAPs) by clicking the heart icon next to each one.
Quick tip: your profile is associated with your Ethereum address, not your GitHub profile, so if you connect a different address, youâll be editing a different profile.
How can I view someone elseâs profile?
You can find a friendâs profile by searching for their address or ENS in the search box in the top navigation bar. Or if they are stellar open source contributors, maybe theyâll be on the leaderboard đ
How do I disconnect my GitHub or Ethereum account?
You can disconnect either through the same button you used to connect. For disconnecting GitHub, hover over the button and wait for the âDisconnectâ dropdown to appear.
Can I mint GitPOAPs to my projectâs contributors too?
Soon! Drop your project into gitpoap.io#suggest and weâll reach out when weâre ready for you to onboard đ
Bugs/issues/missing GitPOAPs đ
Bear with us! Please submit your issue here along with your Ethereum address â if your report leads to a fix, we may just send a POAP your way as a token of appreciation.
FAQ
Why do I need to connect my wallet?
Since GitPOAPs represent a professional contribution, we have you connect your wallet as an extra layer of verification to ensure they are getting minted to an address controlled by the GitHub user.
Is there a public, permanent connection between my address and GitHub account now?
No, there is not. We only pull you contributions from GitHub while your account is connected so we can identify what GitPOAPs youâre eligible for, but no connection is made.
Soon youâll be able to highlight more information from your GitHub account on your profile if youâd like.
I think I deserved a POAP but I didnât get one, what do I do?
Please let us know! Submit a request here and provide a link to the PR we missed and weâll make it right.
