On Your Marks… Get Set… RUN!

With many of us deciding 2018 is the year to get fit, the number of runners out there pounding the streets of Singapore has noticeably increased. How, however, do you keep the motivation going through the upcoming holidays and throughout the rest of the year?

Well there is nothing more motivating than signing up for an organised running event. And, if you choose one organised in aid of a charity not only will you have a deadline to bear in mind during training and something to work towards, you will also know that your efforts are benefiting a good cause.

With this in mind we have scoured the running calendar and here are our top twelve charity running events for 2018:

21 January: Run for Hope

Various categories from 3.5km — 10km

Now in its 25th year this annual run is organised by the national Cancer Centre Singapore in conjunction with the Four Seasons Hotel and Regent Singapore. It is the largest run in aid of cancer in the Singapore running diary and all funds raised, after costs, are donated to the NCC research fund.

800m kid’s dash, 3.5km fun run and 10km run

In association with the Singapore Kindness Movement this run aims to spread gracious living throughout the city. The event sponsors 300 underprivileged children from financially challenged homes or those children who have parents in prison to join in the event. The aim is to inspire them to be active and to show them they can achieve. Should you sponsor such a child to run today, who knows what it may lead them to achieve tomorrow.
