Whatever your cause, run with it with Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2017

Around sixty thousand runners are hoping to cross the finishing line in
Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2017, but how many will be able to
say they’ve really helped others by doing so?

The race is the highlight of Singapore’s running calendar and a great opportunity to really think about what it all means and what you can really give back. Many runners use it as an opportunity to tell the world what causes are important to them and why they’re prepared to put their body on the line for it.

Use GIVE.asia to create a fundraising page and run away with the knowledge
you’re making a real difference to someone’s life. Since 2002 more than SGD2.7million has been raised for charities by people like you, just by putting one foot in front of the other, albeit for 42 kilometers!

Follow GIVE.asia’s tips for a successful race

1. Give it your all! Firstly and before everything else, set up your own fundraising page by clicking here. It will inspire you when the going gets tough!

2. Prior to the race, get organized. Put your clothes out the night before and
attach your race bib/foot pod following the race instructions to ensure you
qualify and correctly record your time.

3. Wear running shoes and clothes you have ‘tried and tested’ to avoid unwanted blisters and chaffing on race day.

4. Hydrate well the day before your event, then on the day take just small sips of water. Too much liquid just before the race could cause a stitch. Never have a heavy meal or food you haven’t tried before the race.

5. Arrive in good time and do a warm up. Soaking up the atmosphere will get your adrenaline going.

6. Go at your own pace and don’t get carried away by the people that start too
quickly. When you’re approaching a drink station head towards the far end of it, most runners go for cups nearest to them as they approach.

Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon is all about what you can give, and
what others will give you!
