Rebecca Muiruri is a creative and charismatic leader passionate about leveraging technology to bring food security to the world. She is a Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering graduate, as well as the founder of two previous start-ups. In 2019, she founded Dronecrops, an Agritech start-up that uses drones for mapping, pest detection and crop management.

In 2020, she founded Grows-Ville, a Kenyan start-up focusing on high-value crop production that was export-grade. Currently, Grows-Ville is venturing into mint and thyme farming on a 2.5 acre farm in Nakuru County, Kenya. Due to the harsh weather in Nakuru, they are using a drip micro-irrigation technique to save water and nutrients. Further, the team is on track to become globally certified to allow them to conduct direct exports. The team is currently selling their yielded produce locally and exporting internationally through agents.

Rebecca and the team aim to expand their farming to 100 acres to increase their production and competitive power in the market. The team is also keen to explore adding crops such as chives, rosemary and lettuce in their catalogue.

Rebecca is working on a strategic partnership between Dronecrops and Grows-Ville to maximize production and revenue for her team and clients.
