Hello Everyone!

Samsung had extended its J series line of smartphones by introducing J Prime smartphones in September 2016. J Prime smartphones consisted of Galaxy J5 Prime and J7 Prime.

Previously, we had written about J7 Prime and today we are back with J5 Prime.

Well, we have been using Galaxy J5 Prime for a while now and here’s how our experience has been

  • Camera — It can capture some very good quality pictures with its 13 MP Primary and 5 MP Secondary camera, the photos are bright even at night, thanks to the f/1.9 lens that complements it.
  • Usability — The curved edges on the body coupled with 5-inch screen size makes the device easy to use and carry around. The curved edges give a good grip and makes the phone less slippery.
  • Performance — The device performs well in most cases, except for when playing games for long duration. It can multi — task with ease and thanks to the Smart Manager from Samsung, it keeps you informed about your phone’s status, giving you peace of mind.
  • Battery — The battery though, a meagre 2400 mAh can easily last a day on normal usage, but if one is playing games or watching movies on the device, then they may feel the need to plug it in.
  • Other features — The front mounted fingerprint sensor and quick launch camera, both of the features work seamlessly, giving greater security and usability.

Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime was initially launched at a price of Rs. 14,790 and hasn’t taken much hit over time. It is now available for Rs. 14,200 on Flipkart and Amazon in Black and Gold Colour.

Should you go in for a J5 Prime?

Despite being a good phone in the price, we would not advise you to go in for it at this time, especially because there are new phones which have been launched in the same price range which offer better performance and in some cases more features than the J5 Prime. One of the phones that comes to our mind, is the Moto G5 Plus, which has a starting price of Rs. 14,999 or J7 Prime which retails for Rs. 15,999.

So, in our opinion, Moto G5 Plus is a better choice when compared to J5 Prime. Moto G5 Plus can be bought exclusively at Flipkart.

For comparison between J7 Prime and J5 Prime head to Samsung Galaxy J Prime. J7 Prime can be bought at Flipkart and Amazon.

Thats all folks.

Thanks.
