Samsung Pay receives Update

Samsung Pay is a payment service which was recently launched by Samsung in India, has started receiving an update.

The update now adds the functionality of paying through UPI. The option to pay using UPI is powered by Axis Bank. Using UPI one can make monetary transactions without disclosing any bank details. All one needs is the UPI address of the person to whom the payment is to be made.

Here’s how to get UPI on Samsung Pay:

1. Open Samsung Pay, wherein it will show a disclaimer.
2. Click on I Agree on the disclaimer page.
3. Samsung Pay will show the update option automatically or head to Settings within the Samsung Pay app and click on about.
4. Download and Install the Update.

Configuring UPI:

1. Open Samsung Pay
2. Click on UPI
3. Keep the auto-generated UPI address or edit it (default UPI address on Samsung Pay is <name>@pingpay)
4. Verify phone number
5. Choose your bank
6. Choose the account you wish to add

All the banks currently offering UPI are on Samsung Pay.

In addition to this Samsung Pay has been rolled out to more devices over the period od time and has added new banking partners such as Citibank and AMEX.
