Try” marks a R&B song with nostalgic notes that radiates good vibes. “It’s not just a song; it’s a testament to the enduring power of love and the courage to pursue it again,” says Florida-based singer Cece Teneal and we invite you to take her at face value.

Presenting the debut single of an ambitious new artist is a special honor. CON currently studies Popular Music Performance and BIMM, but she has her own mind about what pop means: “Untied,” a song about letting loose what holds you back, is influenced by jazz and funk. “ I can officially say that I am so proud of this song,” CON says.

Anika Ostendorf, aka Hachiku, is a quirky and creative German/Australian singer and producer. Her last album *I’ll Probably Be Asleep* , came out in late 2020, so we are happy to have new music from her. “Time Wasted Worrying” recalls a childhood memory and the fact that thinking too much can be a time-waster. “This song is like a little reminder to myself to take care of myself, be kind and self-compassionate and take it easy!” Anika says.

Colombian, Brooklyn-based singer and producer Ela Minus also took four years to follow up on her debut acts of rebellion. In “COMBAT” — the name is taken from the World War 2 newspaper of the French Resistance — she expands her production technique and embraces air in the form of recordings of wind instruments. More music from her is coming, but no dates are set.

The Dutch pop singer/songwriter Jaïr Faria is not over the breakup with his last love. But he does not just want to rewind and repeat, but “Do Better” in his next relationship. Jaïr’s music “always revolves around young queer love,” but the sentiment in this song is universal.

Anna von Raison, aka AVR, released her debut album Salvation last Friday. She was so nice to give us a preview, so I listened to the album whenever I wanted to feel inspired by the vast creative space that is music. Anna is an innovative producer, a skilled piano player, and a fantastic singer, so be ready for a treat with our pick from the album “Incomplete Systems.”

The last song for this week is an upbeat synth-pop piece by Swiss producer, drummer, and vocalist Neil Lauper, who records as Fen Doi. “New Horizon” marks the title track from his just-released new album, which includes eight more bubbly, summer-ready tracks.
